What’s UP?

Hello to all!

Sorry for the delay in getting this ezine out. I just returned from the SIBOS show in Copenhagen and Oracle World in San Francisco. I was in the Sterling Commerce exhibit for the second year in a row at Sibos and one of my associates, Marc Paul, was at the show for client EMC. At Oracle World, I was with new client, Hotsos, and associate David Levitan was there for client Quest Software, as was associate Jonathan Neal for client EMC. Throw in a few private engagements and wham, September is gone.

October is full, as is the rest of the year, and next year is booking up fast. Regardless, I will do my best to get this ezine out, as fast as my little chubby fingers can type.

I appreciate you forwarding this newsletter to your friends and associates. Our subscriber list is growing at a very healthy rate. But please don’t stop sending this ezine to others and encourage them to opt-in at

Additionally, I would like to thank our two guest authors Jennifer McCormack and Roger Carr for sharing their wonderful articles with our readers.

My new book, “ESP – Untap Your Psychic Potential” is now available. Many have purchased copies at the previously mentioned shows and have told me they love the book. I am very excited about “ESP – Untap Your Psychic Potential”. Its main feature is 15 easy-to-do experiments that you can conduct at home. Some can be done alone, others need one more person, still others can be performed in a group – such as at a party – and there are even a few that you can conduct with young adults.

Additionally, “ESP – Untap Your Psychic Potential” offers a concise history of ESP, a glossary of terms, and an extensive list of resources. Plus, you get score sheets and ESP cards that you can print yourself.

When you explore the unknown potential of the mind, you become a “mental scientist.” A scientist is someone who seeks knowledge, understanding, and truth and that’s exactly what a mental scientist does with his or her mind and its powers. So, if you have ever wanted to become a scientist and/or begin researching one of the most fascinating areas of science and psychology, here’s your chance! Who knows, it may open up for you a new line of work.

SPECIAL OFFER: To introduce this book to you, all subscribers can order the book right now and get free shipping. Go to, order the book and when you get to the page where you fill out your name put in the PROMO CODE box FS505.

This offer is only good for the next 7 days, so don’t delay. Go to and get your book (I will sign each one) and get free shipping!

Speaking of ESP, so many of you have expressed an interest in that subject, as well as other “paranormal” things that I am thinking about changing to more of a paranormal/metaphysical site. Currently is focused on business success with products and free articles. I would keep the products and articles on motivation, but would also feature more metaphysical and paranormal offerings. Additionally, others have written and said that they would like to see some paranormal information included in the newsletter as well. (I have included one in the newsletter – see “Colors – An Introduction” by guest author Jennifer McCormack.)

I would love to hear your feedback on this. So, please email me at I’d appreciate it.

As a child, whether you celebrated Christmas or Hanukkah, chances are you couldn’t wait to open your gifts. Perhaps, your favorite holiday was your birthday. You almost exploded waiting to get to your gifts! You just hoped that the new toy that you had your eye on would be in one of those packages. Right?

Many of us, along our journey to adulthood, have lost that sense of expectation and excitement, as it applies to what we desire out of life. Has that happened to you? Do you just go through the motions of living day-by-day?

If so, then you need to bring the joy of expectation back into your life.

People will sometimes say, in an offhanded way, “I just expect miracles.” But in reality, you should. Every day is a chance for you to grow and bring your desires into reality. After all, you only get one shot at life, and as Auntie Mame once said, “Life is a buffet, and most people are starving to death.”

You need to start expecting miracles in your life and they will come. You need to expect that your desires, dreams, and aspirations will become a reality. Here’s how:

  1. Start by writing down one thing that you desire in life. It could be a professional or personal desire, dream or goal.
  1. Take some time now to visualize yourself having that desire. Picture in your mind exactly what it would feel like to possess that desire. Add as much clarity to your picture as possible.
  1. Write down your feelings and thoughts. Do not even entertain any negativity or guilt. (Obviously, your desire must not break any known Laws of God or Man nor should it involve having others do something before your desire can take place.) In other words, if you want a promotion, don’t think about the other person quitting his or her job – that’s negative thinking. (See the motivational moment – “Pass Me By” in this newsletter.)
  1. Now, try and compose your desire into one or two short sentences. For example, say your desire is to get a raise. You might say to yourself, “I desire abundance and prosperity in my life.”
  1. The next step is to put a demand on the Universe. Using the previous example, you would say, “I demand more abundance and prosperity in my life, right now.”
  1. Then, give thanks that you have achieved this desire. Again, using the previous example, you would say, “Thank you for all of the new abundance and prosperity that is coming in to my life, right now.”
  1. Follow this statement with another powerful affirmation. One of my favorites was written by Emma Curtis Hopkins in her classic book, “Classes, 1888”, “There is nothing that can stop my words from accomplishing their purpose, instantaneously.” Another great affirmation by this wonder-worker was, “My words do not return to me void, they accomplish their work instantly.”
  1. After you have said one of these affirmations, let your desire flow into the Universe and expect the desire to happen. The feeling that you will feel is almost magical. (Trust me, I know, I do this all the time and not only do you feel magical, but it also works!) You know that your desire is being “worked on” and that it will become a reality. How do you know this? Because it is a Universal Law: the Law of Expectation. You get what you expect.

So, it is imperative that you expect joyful and wonderful things. Expect, without a single doubt in your mind, that your desire is becoming a reality right now. You must see this reality clearly in your mind and expect to see it with your eyes as soon as possible. Rekindle that feeling that you had as a child, when you hoped and prayed that the new toy that you so dearly wanted would be one of your presents during your favorite holiday. Grab that spirit of expectation and excitement, and apply it to your desires and dreams.

Feel the joy, once again, of expectation.

As promised, here is a paranormal article that deals with colors and your Zodiac sign. I found it very interesting and I hope that you do too.

Our guest author is Jennifer McCormack. She has a wealth of information to share with almost anyone interested in esoteric avenues. She spends the majority of her time on bringing you the best new age resources available at

Colors - An Introduction

by Jennifer McCormack

Color therapy is only now just starting to gain its much desired respect and confidence. Here's a nice simple (and cheap) way to benefit from color therapy.

If you need some perking up and you find that you could do with a good dose of orange to revitalize and replenish your soul (and not too many of us have an orange sweater or even a shirt in the cupboard), buy some orange cellophane paper, wrap it around a glass of chilled water and set it in the sun, allow it to stand for 10 minutes or until you feel that the warmth of the sun (and your chosen healing color) have penetrated the water and then simply drink from the glass, as you drink concentrate on the orange warmth entering and healing your body.

Below you will find colors and their meanings... you can always combine your colors to help you achieve your goals. (Note: your star sign may be connected to more than one color. Ed.)

1) The Color Green... assists with: Healing, Balance, Prosperity, Luck, Harmony

The color green covers many areas on our earth and brings balance and peace. Green promotes confidence, and brings harmony and symmetry. It is both mentally and physically relaxing and promotes synergy between the body and soul. It reminds us of our roots and grounds us when needed.

The color green represents the star sign Taurus. (April 20 – May 20)

2) The Color Brown...assists with: Healing Animals, Mother Earth, The Home

Brown is used to reach back to our Mother Earth, and find within her the powers to heal animals and create peace and harmony around and within your home. Focusing on the color brown can increase our powers to heal the planet and help all of her creatures.

The color brown represents the star sign Capricorn. (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

3) The Color Pink...assists with: Emotional Love, Friendship, Compassion

Pink is revitalizing and soothing, a lighter form of red it can be used in much the same way to gain empowerment, however, on a softer and gentler level. Pink shows the unconditional love, friendship and support that can be given and received.

The color pink represents the star sign Libra and Gemini. (Libra – Sept. 23 – Oct. 22) (Gemini – May 21 – June 20)

4) The Color Red...assists with: Strength, Power, Courage, Love

Red is the color of empowerment. It gives strength and enhances the life force energy. Focus on red when you need to increase your energy, work on unconditional love or simply be more empowered. When you wear the color red you will be noticed - this is a color that says "stop and look at me". The color red will also help you to overcome negative and pessimistic ideas.

The color red represents the star sign Aries and Scorpio. (Aries – March 21 – April 19) (Scorpio – Oct 23 – Nov. 21)

5) The Color Yellow...assists with: Psychic Ability, Mental Strength, Wisdom

Yellow enhances and improves psychic abilities; it builds upon your wisdom and allows for clarity of thought. Yellow mentally stimulates and enhances communication. Yellow enables your mental powers to rise to the surface and creates a peace that enables you to move forward and grow spiritually.

The color yellow represents the star sign Leo and Virgo. (Leo – July 23 – Aug. 22) (Virgo – Aug. 23 – Sept. 22) (Bob is a Virgo.)

6) The Color Purple...assists with: Healing, Power, Strength, Spirituality

Another one of the powerful and intense colors, used correctly, purple can enhance and strengthen healing and assist us in our journey towards true spirituality. Look for people you know to be spirituality "in-tune" and I am sure you will find some shade of the color purple on them.

The color purple represents the star sign Pisces. (Feb. 19 – March 20)

7) The Color Blue...assists with: Healing, Sleep, Peace, Honesty

Blue is most children's favorite color - ever wonder why? Blue is an extremely powerful color and it delves deep into the psyche. Blue heals and promotes growth, it is the color associated with royalty and nobility. Blue is the color of respect, it allows one to overcome fear and helps promote and foster inner calmness. Peace, serenity and sense of ones self can be achieved through the color blue.

The color blue represents the star sign Aquarius. (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

8) The Color Orange...assists with: Legal Matters, Empowerment, Success

Orange is almost an undiscovered color and is only now starting its long awaited ride to the top of the color charts. Orange is not only an antidepressant it also stimulates and excites the mind. Anyone with a desire to enhance and add direction and purpose to their life can do with a little orange (orange can be quite powerful, take mind not to add too much though).

The color orange represents the star sign Libra and Leo. (Libra – Sept. 23 – Oct. 22) (Leo - July 23 – Aug. 22)

9) The Color White...assists with: Protection, Peace, Spirituality, Serenity

White is the color of Protection, Peace, Spirituality and Serenity. It is the color we "see", when we see good, just and right. White protects and has the ability to cradle and encase. White allows for complete peace, it conveys openness, encourages warmth, purification and leads to a complete and unconditional sense of serenity.

The color white represents the star sign Cancer. (June 21 – July 22)

Normally, what we look for is an article about 800 words or less. Please make sure to spell check and use proper grammar and punctuation. Also, add a by-line, a brief bio and information on where readers can contact you. (If you don’t want readers to contact you, leave off your email.)

We have gotten a number of articles and we get them in as fast as possible. So, don’t delay.

Most of us have had the unpleasant experience of being cut off by a driver who then unceremoniously yells a few choice words at us or shows us the dexterity of their fingers to communicate a message of unhappiness.

Hopefully, you don’t feel compelled to respond to this form of communication, or other insults or threats that others throw your way. It’s easy to respond (usually by yelling back which no one hears but you and others that may be in your car) and more challenging to not respond. The next time you get the urge to respond, remember this story:

Buddha was once asked by his disciples why he didn’t respond to the insults that others would cast toward him. Buddha said, “Imagine what would happen if someone placed a gift at your feet and you chose to ignore it. Or someone sent you a letter and you did not open it.” The disciples answered that it would be returned to the original owner. Buddha responded with one word, “Exactly.”

Just let the anger or insult from another person pass you by, and, like a boomerang, it will have to go back to its owner.

I’m sure that you have heard the phrase, “Little things mean a lot.” They do, especially the “little things” that you do for others.

Little Things Do Make a Difference

by Roger Carr

Think back over your life. Think about the people that had a positive influence on you. If your past was like mine, many of them didn't realize the impact they made. The influence was usually due to them caring about you and doing some little thing. What little things have been done for you that changed your life? What little things have you done for someone else that might have changed theirs?

I have been influenced by little things done by others.

I had a boss that asked whether I had the guts to take a job he felt I could do. It was a job I wasn't even qualified to apply for. That question influenced me to set my career goals at a higher level and faster pace than they were at that time.

When I attended my first Toastmasters meeting the group made me feel welcome from the moment I set foot in the room. One person made it a point to introduce me to several members before the first meeting started. Another leaned over to me on my second visit, just before my first speech, to let me know what to expect and to let me know I would do great. I am grateful to both of them.

Children can influence us as well. A great example of this happened to me at a Cub Scout summer camp here in my hometown of Fredericksburg, Virginia. For those of you who are not familiar with Cub Scouts, the boys range from 1st through 5th grade. I showed up on the morning of the first day of camp just to make sure everything went smooth for our group. We got everyone registered for the week's events, set up a canopy where the scouts and leaders could get under some shade for lunch and then headed to the flagpole.

At the flagpole, all of the camp participants said the Pledge of Allegiance and then the

camp leader started to give instructions. In the middle of the instructions, one of the 1st grade boys tugged on my pant leg. When I looked down at him, he had the biggest smile on his face. He said, "Mr. Carr, I'm having a really good time" and he meant it! They hadn't even started their first camp activity yet. At that moment, I knew all of the hours I put in as a scout leader were well worth it.

I have found that we can influence others by doing little things for them.

You can influence others by providing help when it is needed. When I say provide help, I am not just talking about offering to help. Most people will not take you up on an offer even if they desperately need it. I remember taking food to a couple that was sick. This was not anyone I knew. It was a friend of someone that was in my Sunday school class.

Two years later they saw me, thanked me and told me how much that meant to them. They even remembered my name after two years! Another way I have helped was to provide advice to coworkers that now refer to me as their mentor. Also, to help families pack up a truck to move. Some of these families are friends of ours today even though they live several states away.

Another way I have found that you can influence others is by saying "thank you." I don't think I ever realized the power of saying thank you until a few months ago. I was at a professional symposium in Northern Virginia. I was one of the symposium leaders.

During a lunch break, I stayed in the room where one of the classes was being given to watch all of the personal belongings of the students while they were at lunch. During the break, three of the hotel workers came into the room to fill water pitchers and put out clean glasses. One of the workers was obviously a mentally challenged person that was hired to help. His job was to put the clean glasses on the tables. When he serviced the table I was sitting at I said a simple "thank you." I will never forget the look on his face. I could have told him he won the lottery and he couldn't have looked any more excited! Even after they left the room to go to the next, I could still hear him shouting as loud as he could about the "nice man."

Writing notes is a third way you can potentially influence others. I started writing thank you notes a couple of years ago (for reasons other than receiving a gift). I have been thanked over and over for some of these notes of appreciation and told I didn't have to do that. I have recently learned and started using at times a new way of writing notes. I learned it from Charlie "Tremendous" Jones who has since encouraged me to pass this method along to others. Purchase some inexpensive, inspirational books that have had a positive impact on you. Write an encouraging note inside the cover of one of those books and give it to the person. You will feel good doing it, reading the book will change the person, and they will think of you every time they read it. What a powerful gesture!

Start today doing little things for others.

I can look back over my past and remember several moments in time that God used someone doing a little thing that encouraged me. I have also heard from others that have been influenced by me for doing the same. There are many kinds of little things you can do to encourage others. Some of these involve providing help when there is a need, saying thank you, and writing notes. What are you going to do today for someone that will make a difference in his or her life?

My company, MCC – Motivative & Communicative Concepts – is known for helping its clients maximize attention and quality leads at trade shows and for making meetings and events fun and exciting.

My associates and I are specialists. By that, I mean we specialize in mixing a business or motivational message with magic and fun at corporate functions, worldwide. That's all we do. We are not general practitioners that perform at a variety of places - only corporate functions. Just like when you go to a doctor, there is a world of difference between a general practitioner and a specialist. If the outcome that you desire is critical (such as at a trade show), you want a magician/spokesperson who can attract crowds to your booth and get you targeted leads. Or at a meeting for customers or employees, if you want a speaker who is not only entertaining, but also has proven and powerful content - then you want a specialist.

Again, if the outcome that you desire is important (and when in business is the outcome not important?) get a specialist. That’s us. So, give us a call now!
