Don’t Play the Blame Game

Some people blame their present condition on where they were born or on their parents. Some blame the “rich” or the government, etc.

It’s called the blame game. Many people find it easier to point fingers, not realizing that whenever you point your finger at someone or something, there are always three fingers pointing back at you. Blaming won’t change anything. There is someone who has been in your exact or similar situation who has changed his or her life. If they did it, so can you.

ACTION ITEM: Open yourself up to a “new you.” Recognize that if you are not in the best of circumstances that those circumstances don’t define you – they only define where you are at this moment. If you want to change where or what you are, find a way to do it. Talk to people. Research others who have been in a similar situation as you, learn from their experience … follow their examples.

To make any type of change in your life takes time, effort, and hard work, but to quote Jesse Jackson, “Both tears and sweat are salty, but they give you a different result. Tears may get you sympathy, but sweat will get you change”.

“Many businesspeople wait for lean periods to examine their operations and effect savings without sacrificing quality or efficiency and the result is that they often hit the “panic button” and slash costs and people at the wrong time and in the wrong places.” - J. Paul Getty, entrepreneur, author.

“Cream doesn’t rise to the top, it works it way to the top.”- Harvey Mackay, successful entrepreneur, author and speaker.

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.” - George Bernard Shaw, writer, dramatist.

“Those with low self-esteem repeatedly begin their projects by energetically striving for huge flashy success, and missing that, they turn aside from whatever success might be theirs, experiencing themselves instead as utter failures.” - Marsha Sinetar, psychologist, author of “Do What You Love and The Money Will Follow”.
