It is hard to believe that July is right around the corner. (Where did the first half of the year go?) Again, it has been ages since our last update and keeping current with our postings of what’s been going on has fallen way behind! But, again, we’re so grateful that we have been busy. Fortunately, Bob has been fairly regular at quickly posting what’s been happening under our BIG NEWS page. This is a good thing!
BEFORE WE LOOK BACK AT WHERE WE LEFT OFF...
Another Standing “O”! Bob just returned from St. Louis and the America’s Center where he was the general session wrap-up speaker for the 42nd Annual National Meeting for SERVPRO Industries – the national leader and provider of fire and water cleanup and restoration services. 2,000 franchise owners and guests from across the country hit the floor for a standing ovation. Plus, Bob was also the funny emcee for SERVPRO’S Spirit Awards. He left a major impact on the crowd.Watch the testimonial and see for yourself!
June was Busting and Bob was on the move!
Just prior to being with SERVPRO, lots of frequent flyer points were logged, as Santander Consumer USA’s nationwide Employee Appreciate Week events took Bob to all of their US offices in 3 states in 5 days! Bob and members of the Human Resources team visited sites in South Carolina, Texas, and Colorado. Bob delivered 15 customized presentations in 120 hours to all levels of Santander’s employees – from the C- suite to front line employees.
Santander Consumer USA - a subsidiary of Global 500 company, Europe’s largest bank, and the 4th largest bank in the world, Banco Santander - wanted to do something really different and fun (yet of value) to show their appreciation to their US based employees – who have been going though lots of changes and challenges on the job ... so they brought in Bob. And, after the event – Santander purchased Bob’s book Masters of Motivation as follow-up “thank you” gifts for all of their employees who were at the events – and them some. It was a fantastic tie-in! Bob autographed every book (he went through a whole box of Sharpies) ... but enjoyed every minute of it!
What was wonderful
was the report that Human Resources provided with regard to having Bob speak at
their event. They ran the numbers after Bob left each site and documented a
10 – 12% increase in productivity. That is AWESOME. You can hear and
watch what Santander said about Bob.
Bob was also able to squeeze in a private event in San Diego, just prior to being with SERVPRO. Bob does a lot of private events where he appears in client’s homes, on their yachts and at country clubs. Bob loves people and loves doing private events!
Next up, Bob heads to San Diego to assist VHA, Inc. - which serves 1,400 not-for-profit hospitals and more than 24,000 non-acute care health care organizations nationwide – with their participation at the 2011 AHA Health Forum Leadership Summit at the beautiful Manchester Grand Hyatt. At this year’s VHA conference, Bob worked with new client Novation – the leading health care supply contracting company for more than 25,000 members of VHA, Inc. – but he is very excited about working with VHA itself at the American Hospital Association’s conference!
I told you he was busy. Now…
TAKING IT FROM THE TOP...
2011 started with Bob heading back to NYC for the National Retail Federation’s 100th Conference with long-time client Manhattan Associates at NYC’s Javitts Center. While associate David Levitan was onboard with Telsource/Acuative, also working with Bob was technical presenter Leslie Chambers. Bob pulled attendees to the exhibit and Leslie relayed how Manhattan supply chain optimization solutions could help retailers deliver a Zero Disappointment Retail™ experience to customers!
Barely getting out of NY before the second blizzard of the winter locked down the city, Bob winged down to the sunny environs of St. Thomas, USVI where he awed guests at a couple of private island soirées held at the Ritz Carlton and also at a private home. But, all work and no play…well, you know how it goes, so Bob spent the other waking hours in the fun and sun of breathtaking Cowpet Bay and Charlotte Amalie!
From St. Thomas, Bob hopped up to sunny Miami and onward to Boca Raton, Florida for Progress Software’s Global Partner Conference at the Waldorf Astoria’s Boca Raton Resort & Club. Hundreds of representatives from Progress Software’s business partners attended from all over the world and Bob was on hand with Sip, Snack & Surprise to intrigue and entertain this international audience.
The beginning of February saw Bob off to the East Coast again ... and Connecticut for a repeat appearance at the Realty Executives of New England’s 2011 Awards Event at the MGM Grand Foxwoods. For the second year in a row, Bob kicked off the meeting adding just the right amount of spice! After the evening’s accolades, Bob again performed mindreading miracles at a hospitality suite for these top-performing award recipients and their guests. When asked what to say about Bob, they said just repeat what we said last year… it’s still true. So here it is:
While Bob headed back to California, associate Leslie Chambers was preparing to depart for the RSA 2011 in San Francisco with long-time, multi-show client EMC. Directly from SF, Leslie headed for HIMSS – again with EMC – at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center where Bob was also on the show floor with long-time client HealthPort at the mega-show HIMSS. Here’s some shots of the great crew at HealthPort and Bob in the booth.
Then it was up to the Soaring Eagle Resort & Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan where Bob wrapped up the 2011 Trane Dealers Conference. Here’s what the conference planner had to say:
Bob returned to SPECS 2011 in Dallas (held at one of Bob’s favorite convention hotels – the Gaylord Texan!) for a repeat booking with Novar/Honeywell - the global leader in multi-site energy management. Directly on the heels of this project, Bob traveled to Atlanta and the Marriott Marquis for another booking with Novar/Honeywell at the Edison Electric Institute’s Spring National Key Accounts event. (Bob was such a hit and Novar experienced – again – so much “mind share” from Bob’s presence at both shows that Novar re-booked for SPECS and EEI Spring in March 2012.)
As Bob was taking off from Atlanta, Leslie Chambers was touching down in Washington DC to deliver the marketing message at the 2011 AIIM International Exposition & Conference - the largest enterprise content & document management conference – for (yet again) EMC.
But Bob didn’t sit long, as he recorded more of his podcasts for his sister site http://www.bobgarneraudio.com. Currently, Bob has over 30,000 listeners, worldwide. In fact, when Bob is late in adding new podcasts, he gets emails asking him he where they are.
Then, Bob literally flew out of his recoding studio and headed to Chicago’s Gold Coast for another private event where he entertained, amazed and was treated to an unbelievable spread of food. I told you Bob loved these events! From Chicago, it was time to start…
TWO STEPPIN’ IN TEXAS
The capital of the Lone Star state - Austin - was the site of NACHA’s Payments 2011 and Bob was with long-time client FISERV - the leading global provider of financial services technology solutions - to communicate their marketing message to the attendees from all types and sizes of financial institutions. (NACHA governs the ACH network - the backbone for the electronic movement of money and data.) Then it was back to Florida – but this time to Orlando and the Disney Yacht Club for CSCU’s INVOLVE 2011. Bob was the wrap-up speaker for the Card Services for Credit Unions Customer Conference – and here is what the event’s manager had to say:
After the CSCU, the madness was about to begin as Bob winged back to California and San Diego to work with Northrop Grumman – for the 3rd year in a row – at the GSA conference. Here is what Northrop Grumman has to say about Bob, as well as some photos of Bob at the show and the great Northrop Grumman crew!
Bob didn’t even leave the beautiful bayside city, because directly after the GSA, Bob was back at the San Diego Convention Center delivering the marketing message for client Novation at the VHA conference!
He did have one day off, so Bob visited the Whaley House, which is registered as an official haunted house. Take a look at Bob and me exploring “America’s Most Haunted House.”
On the heels of the VHA – Bob jetted to Georgia where he was the wrap-up keynote speaker for Northwestern Mutual Life's 2011 Strategic Business conference - at the gorgeous resort Château Élan in Braselton. (Who knew that 40 miles outside of Atlanta was a little bit of France, plus vineyards and a full-production winery!) Here is what the conference planner had to say.
While Bob was busy doing these multiple events, associate tech presenter Bill Jones took a break from his shooting schedule on the Fox TV hit show GLEE and presented the marketing message at Interop Vegas for long-time client Mellanox Technologies. (This is Bill’s 5th year as Mellanox’s spokesperson at their major industry shows.)
Also at multiple events for us, associate presenter Leslie Chambers started with EMCWorld in Vegas (for long-time client EMC) and then jetted to Microsoft Tech Ed in Atlanta - again for EMC. (I want to mention that this, too, is Leslie’s 5th year as EMC’s spokesperson at their major industry shows!) Coming from across the great Atlantic, long-time associate UK Marc Paul was also onboard at Microsoft Tech Ed - for a second year in a row - dazzling attendees for client Network Appliance.
Then, Leslie winged back to California and San Diego (a popular city for conferences and conventions this year!) to appear at MOMENTUM 2011 – Manhattan Associates’ User Conference. Leslie revived her effervescent presentation from January’s NRF to inform Manhattan’s users of the Zero Disappointment Retail™ experience at the event’s 3 days of Discovery Center sessions. While Leslie was recovering from jet-lag, Bob was still flying high as he appeared at 2 separate private events – one in Scottsdale and the other a yacht ported in Miami. Here’s some shots of the scenery and Bob relaxing in first class. Not bad, huh?
